小孩吃飯「最理想時間」曝!醫:吃越久,不代表吃越多

「再一口就好!」、「你已經吃1個小時了!」每到用餐時間,許多家庭就會上演激烈的吃飯大戰,最後搞得全家一肚子氣,孩子碗裡的飯卻還是沒吃完。究竟小孩吃一頓飯花多久才算正常?兒科醫師傑登指出,兒科與營養學界的共識建議是20~30分鐘,並提醒家長:「吃越久,不代表吃得越多。」

傑登醫師日前在粉專分享,吃飯時間不只是習慣問題,更關乎孩子的發展。他解釋,當用餐時間超過30分鐘,孩子通常已經不在吃飯狀態。長期拖太久慢慢吃,容易出現3大後果:首先是「飽了,卻還在被塞」,邊吃邊玩會讓大腦難以接收「飽了」的訊息,久了孩子會分不清楚餓或飽。

其次是增加心理壓力,傑登醫師接著說明,催促與碎碎念會讓孩子將餐桌與壓力連結,反而更排斥吃飯;最後則是提高蛀牙風險,牙齒長時間浸泡在酸性環境中,對口腔健康極為不利。

「你贏了這一餐,但可能輸掉孩子之後的食慾。」傑登醫師建議,家長應將用餐時間控制在30分鐘內,時間到就平和但堅定地收掉碗筷,不追餵、不責罵。在用餐過程中,應關掉電視與玩具讓孩子專心,並將吃多少的決定權還給孩子。

面對家長擔心「時間到就收,吃不夠」的疑慮,傑登醫師直言,短期內可能會有這種現象,但長期來看通常會變好。他強調,餐與餐之間應間隔3~4小時且不給零食,讓孩子體驗真正的「餓過」,畢竟「飢餓是世上最好的調味料。」

不過,若家長調整2~4週後仍無改善,且孩子出現咀嚼困難、容易嗆到、極度排斥特定質地食物,或嚴重分心無法完成進食等狀況,醫師建議應進一步尋求專業評估,確認是否存在口腔肌肉、感覺整合或注意力等問題。
